Одраз као роба: кратка етно(историо)графија викторијанских огледала

Сажетак

Током деветнаестог века огледала бивају масовно произведена и постају јефтина и свеприсутна у западним престоницама. Текст разматра начине на које су огледала, као фетишизована роба, рефлектовала деветнаестовековно потрошачко друштво и променила аутоперцепцију посматрача. Основни аргумент је да се, услед непрестаног сусретања са сопственим одразом, у посматрачу десила промена на нивоу жеље: деветнаестовековни посматрач почео је погрешно да поистовећује целовитост свог одраза са истином о целовитости свога сопства. Помоћу ове кратке етно(историо)графије викторијанских огледала, текст дискутује деветнаестовековну визуелну културу спектакла и жеље.
